THE LAWS OF LIGHT  Explanation Basic laws of light  click in te blue letters and you will understand the main differences between reflection, refraction and dispersion. Remember to click the arrow at the top right to continue with the presentation until the end.  Read 3 times and underline page 92 & 93 Natural Science book Complete Activity 2 page 93 Correction (pg 91) exercise 2        2 Opaque materials don't let any light pass through them.  Translucient materials let some light pass through them. Transparent materials let light pass through them.

LIGHT    Without light we wouldn´t be able to see,  Everything that we see or use has some degree of visibility or invisibility. Here, we give you an elaborate comparison between different materials, based on their ability to pass or not pass light through them. Translucent Vs. Transparent Vs. Opaque Translucent ┗ A material through which light can pass partially. ┗ We can partly see through these objects. They can also be called partially-see-through objects. ┗ The color of this material depends on the amount of light absorbed, scattered, and reflected. ┗ An object on the other side of this material is visible to some extent. ┗ Consider the example of a frosted glass. We can barely see what’s outside the window. This is because the partially-absorbed light scatters in different directions. The image above represents the concept of translucency. Light is focused onto a frosted glass having thickness. It allows the light to pass through it diffusely. Li...

For Today you have to copy the last words from the Glossary in page 101- Today´s Explanation is about how heat affects different materials. You all know that heat causes changes in state in matter. For exemple it can change a solid into a liquid or a liquid into gas. This video shows you what happen when a solid is heated, it changes into a liquid and this process is called MELTING. When this liquid is heated it changes into a gas what it is called EVAPORATION. If a liquid cools down, it changes into solid tis process is SOLIDIFICATION or freezing. Same thing happens when a gas cools down, it changes into a liquid this is CONDENSATION. Is everything clear? If not just ask me.

Did you see yesterday explanation? I hope you understood with no problem. So lets continue with the following concepts. Differences between  the  conductor material  and  insulator  is that the  conductor  allows the energy (  heat  ) to pass through it, whereas the  insulator  does not allow the energy to pass through it.  Lets try with this experiment, it is your choice to do it, you don´t have to but it is fun ... if you choose to try let me know the results ....

Send me on Thursday all your science homework. Correction Ex 2 a. heat 2,3,4,6        light 1,5,6 b. artificial 1          natural 6 Today in natural science we are going to answer How does heat travel? Heat always travels from a hotter object to a colder one. Try to put a hot liquid into a cold container, the heat moves from the liquid to the container. The liquid get colder and the container hotter. Why do you put your sodas in the fridge? to cool them or why when you put some food in the microwave get hotter? or how does the heat from the Sun travel through space? so you are going to learn how all this happens. Take a look to the video and then read the explanation. It is very easy, do not bother your parents and ask me if you have any question. Use Blogger comments. During this week I will phhone you to check if you have any problem. CONDUCTION When two objects are in contact, heat is transferred from one o...

Science Tuesday 24th

Thanks to Tessy you can complete your knowledge of energy reading this wonderful book about energy. ENERGY BOOK Once you are in the site you will have to use the QR code that you have recieved by mail already. Due to the fact that it is imposible to load it in the blog. This book will be very useful to solve any question about Thusday test. Remember complete the questions that we ask you at the end of the book and send them back to me via email

Monday 23rd Science

Remember you will have Unit 4 test about Energy next Thursday 26th. It is going to be very easy.  Do not worry. If you have tried on Friday with quizz  it is going to be like that one. To practice with compite the mind map in page 82 from the book and send me a picture.

Yesterday task was quite interesting wasn´t it so today in Science I will ask you to read carefully pages 76&77; review 74&75 As the exercise of the day you will write down 3 ideas for ways to save energy at home, with these ideas you will design a green building that will include technology to save energy. You have two ways to present the task: drawing the building and labelling the ideas or recording with your voice the features of the greenhouse and send them to me via mail before Monday 23rd at 16:30 both ways will be graded. YOU ONLY HAVE TO SEND ONE (voice recording OR drawing)what you prefer it is your choice. It is very easy to record your voice with any cell phone and then mail it. Try will be fun for you to do things in a different way REMEMBER STILL PEOPLE WHO HAVEN´T FINISHED  TASKS. You have the chance to send them to me, please do it.
